The Story of Scatz Catering Group
At Scatz Catering Group, we believe that food is more than just something you eat. It’s an experience that brings people together. Our journey began in 2013 with the opening of Scatz Restaurant, where we quickly became known for our bold flavors, unique dishes, and warm hospitality. But after three years of non-stop hustle, we made the tough decision to close our doors in 2016, needing a much-needed break from the stress. However, one thing never changed: the demand for our food.
Our loyal customers couldn’t get enough, and in early 2017, we re-entered the culinary scene with Scatz Catering, bringing the same passion for food to weddings, corporate events, and backyard BBQs across Connecticut. With this new chapter, we focused on catering to private events, and soon our dream of hitting the road with our food became a reality. In 2018, we launched our first food truck, taking Scatz to a whole new level.
Then, the world changed in 2020. COVID-19 brought challenges like we had never seen before, but we persevered. Out of hundreds of trucks, we were honored to be chosen as one of only eight trucks to continue operating throughout the pandemic, serving communities across Connecticut. It wasn’t easy, and we got through it by the skin of our teeth, but here we are—almost five years later, stronger than ever.
Today, Scatz Catering Group is more than just food trucks or catering; we are a family committed to sharing our passion for food with the world. Whether it’s through our signature BBQ from Scatz Holy Smokez or our unique twist on Philly cheesesteaks from Scatz Twisted Phillyz, we’re dedicated to giving our customers an unforgettable experience. We’ve been through ups and downs, but one thing has always been constant: our love for feeding people.
